CNC Machining FAQ for Buyers and Engineers
Straight answers to the questions buyers ask us most — from minimum order quantities and lead times to tolerances, materials and how quoting works. If yours is not here, ask directly: we normally reply within 24 hours on working days.
Orders & Quoting
Common Questions
What is your MOQ (minimum order quantity)?
There is no fixed MOQ. We produce prototypes, pilot batches, repeat orders and high-volume programs. Tell us your annual or per-order quantity and we will quote to it.
How do I get a quotation?
Send your drawing (PDF, STEP, IGES, DXF or DWG) or sample description plus target quantity. Include material, tolerance and finish callouts if the drawing shows them. We review and reply, normally within 24 hours on working days.
What information do you need for an accurate quote?
A drawing or clear part description; material (or “recommend one for me”); quantity (per order and/or per year); and any special requirements — threads, surface treatment, packaging, certification.
How long does a quote stay valid?
Material prices move, especially for copper and brass. Quotes are tied to the prevailing material market; for long-term programs we can discuss pricing mechanisms such as quarterly material adjustments.
Do you sign NDAs or treat my drawings as confidential?
Customer drawings are treated as confidential and used only for quotation and manufacturing of your parts. We are glad to sign an NDA if your process requires one.
Production & Quality
Common Questions
What tolerances can you achieve?
Down to ±0.005 mm where geometry and material allow. Realistic tolerance depends on material, feature type and size — engineering will flag anything that needs discussion during quoting.
What is the typical lead time?
It depends on complexity and quantity — prototypes are faster than volume programs, and automatic-lathe lines can move large orders quickly. We state a confirmed lead time in the quotation.
Can you provide samples before mass production?
A pre-production sample / FAI stage is agreed per project before volume runs, so you approve the part before we commit to the batch.
Which materials do you machine?
Brass, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, iron/carbon steel, tungsten steel and engineering plastics (nylon, POM). See the materials guide for guidance.
Can you machine from a physical sample instead of a drawing?
Yes — sample-based manufacturing (replication to your requirements) is a core service, alongside drawing-based work and material-supplied processing.
Do you make prototypes?
Yes. Prototype and pilot-batch work is a normal part of the process before larger volumes, and we schedule it separately from production runs.
Shipping & Support
Common Questions
Do you export worldwide?
Yes — we serve international buyers and arrange export packing and documentation. Incoterms and shipping method (sea, air, express) are agreed per order.
How do I communicate with your team?
By email ([email protected]), WhatsApp, phone or the inquiry form on this site. English-speaking support is available for export customers.
Can you help with material selection or design for manufacturability?
Yes. If a drawing has features that are costly or difficult to machine, we will tell you during the review — before you commit to tooling or volumes.
